BUILDING CONSTRUCTION ANIMATION

As promised in the previous post, I present to you the the final submission 3ds Max assembly animation video for the Computer Applications module.

Before putting up the video I want to share the feed back, hopefully this helps you understand what is happening and what to look out for.

Camera Views

The most important suggestion is to introduce 3 more cameras that will capture objects coming in from the sides where the camera no longer has a head on view. The composite metal cladding and the glazing need to be seen from the facades that they are being placed in instead of falling into place out of view.

The trusses and roof sheeting that comes in from the top also need a new camera with a different angle and path to capture the assembly of the roof as the roof is of fundamental importance to the structure. (feminists can skip this sentence...*laughing)As is a woman's hair, for instance.

Material Colour Variance

Also suggested is the variation of different shades and hues of grey and/or clay colours to give the building legibility in terms of the viewer being able to distinguish and discriminate between separate elements once the overlap with others during their animation.

Shadows

And last but definitely least the shadow that is cast onto the surface is distracting and gets in the way of the visibility of the elements as they come in as well as affects the visibility of the detail of the building. That is the easiest of the 3 to smooth out. So here goes:

Stick around for the fully updated version later on during the semester. Ciao...
